5G-ENSURE partner, SICS Swedish ICT, has just released a state-of-the-art survey of 5G Security — "5G: Towards secure ubiquitous mobile connectivity beyond 2020”.
The report examines various aspects of 5G Security, starting with the expectations, requirements, enablers and design principles conferred by selected publications.
The historic development of the authentication and key agreement protocol is provided in the report as an example of the evolution of security in mobile networks.
Furthermore, the authors describe several known attacks on the current generation of mobile networks and solutions to identified weaknesses.
The report discusses the proposed 5G security architecture and the security aspects of 5G use cases enablers, such as software-defined networking and network function virtualisation.
